Logan Birchfield: Senior Spotlight

The Senior Spotlight is a series of articles by The Rebellious Times highlighting the unique actions or personality of our seniors. Each week, the senior class picks seniors that they believe best fit the requirements of that week’s Senior Spotlight.

Logan is one of the oldest students in Southwestern’s class of 2020. He’s eighteen years old and full of energy. While he doesn’t have a part-time job, he dedicates most of his time to doing homework for the multiple dual credit classes he takes. His siblings have also attended Southwestern.

  1. What is your favorite thing to do outside of school? Outside of school, I enjoy playing video games on my computer. My favorite game is Minecraft.
  2. What is one thing you will miss most about high school? I’m going to miss having a relaxed morning. I’m an aide for the middle school office, so I do deliveries for Jill and grab water for Mr. Dattilo. I have a lot of time to study for exams or work on my homework, though.
  3. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was in elementary school, specifically Kindergarten, I wanted to be a mechanic. In middle school, my interests shifted more towards mechanical and electrical engineering.
  4. If you could magically become fluent in any language, what would it be? I want to be fluent in German. Most of my family history resides in Germany.
  5. What is some advice you would give to incoming freshmen? Make sure you take any dual credit classes during your junior year, not your senior year, of high school. It will save you a lot of frustration.
