‌Southwestern‌ ‌Youth‌ ‌and‌ ‌Action‌ ‌Club‌

Let’s talk about the community service club at Southwestern High School in Hanover, Indiana. We have several clubs but one specifically is a club that is dedicated to helping people when needed. This club is called the Southwestern Youth and Action Club or S.Y.A. for short.

The S.Y.A. is a club that offers to help people with whatever the task may be. The two people that started the club are Aleea Crumley and Ireland Watterson. They got together one day and talked about how they can help out more, but they didn’t just want to help. They wanted to find a way to get other people to join them and help as well. So, they created the Southwestern Youth and Action Club.

The two people that are in charge of the club are Ireland Watterson and Brittany Watson. Ireland and Aleea talked to Brittany Watson about this idea and she decided she would help them make it happen. They started the club in January of 2021. They chose to meet in Mrs. Watson’s room to have their meetings and to hang out.

They currently have eight members in the club right now, but more people are trying to join. So, some of you might be thinking about why they started this club. They wanted something to do after school and wanted to be able to help out whenever they could.

The best part about this club is that it’s not just a club for helping people. You can go there and hang with friends and possibly make new friends, too. If you join this club you’ll have a lot of fun. You can also get volunteer hours for doing it. All in all, it’s a club that you’ll enjoy.
