Going into the game both Southwestern and Madison were undefeated teams. Southwestern had a record of 4-0 and Madison 7-0. The starting pitcher from Southwestern was Jordan DeAtley and Madison´s was Ben Orrill. Madison got to an early start by taking a one-run lead in the second inning and eventually expanding it to a five-run lead in the third inning. After a couple of home runs by Zach Forner and Trenton Barnes, the score was 9-1 in the fourth inning. 

Southwestern started putting runs on the board starting in the third inning, but they really got a rally going in the last three innings. After a big RBI double by Zach Cole and a 2 RBI single by William Stockdale, Southwestern outscored Madison 7-2 in the last three innings and threatened to win in the seventh inning. Southwestern had a runner on base and the meat of their lineup coming up. It was too late for Southwestern to come back. Southwestern fell to Madison 11-8, ending their undefeated season.

 Zach Cole and Jordan DeAtley were both 3 for 4 with one RBI. Jamison Lewis was 2 for 3 with an RBI. Foster Mefford was 1 for 4 with an RBI. William Stockdale was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI.
